| Goals & Objectives |
The goal of the Analytical
Chemistry, Exposure Assessment, and Aerosol Science
Facility Core (called the Analytical Facility
Core for short) is to provide exposure assessment
services to Center investigators for proposal
preparation and the conduct of environmental research
studies. |
Specific
Objectives
- To provide high quality, state-of-the-art
chemical analysis of trace contaminants in
environmental media such as water, air, food,
and tissue.
- To provide consultation and expertise on
aerosol sampling, sample collection, chemical
speciation, and physical characterization.
- To provide consultation and planning for
exposure assessment in proposal development.
- To provide exposure assessment assistance
and field services to Center investigators,
including the loan of environmental sampling
and direct reading instrumentation and trained
personnel (such as graduate students) to provide
field operations support in research projects.
- To encourage collaboration between Analytical
Facility Core members and other Center investigators
for the development of new methods and instruments.
- To serve as a referral link to the Exposure
Assessment Research Core.
